PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator capable of reducing installation space and slimming in installation, securing high rigidity in all directions, performing smooth elevating operation with high precision, reducing a production cost, and facilitating production. SOLUTION: This elevator is provided with a cylinder part 5, which is stood on a lower base 6 to expand/shrink in the vertical direction, and an upper base 12 moving up/down according to expansion/shrinkage of the cylinder part 5. The elevator is provided with a base part side stator 7 stood on the upper base 6, an elevation part side stator 11 suspended from the lower face of the upper base 12, a movable part 15 arranged between the base part side stator 7 and the elevation part side stator 11 to engage with the base part side stator 7 or the elevation part side stator 11 slidably in the vertical direction, and a spiral structure 29 constructing a spiral face shape around the cylinder part 8.
