A sound generating mechanism comprises a control unit (10), a vibrating unit (12) and a mechanism (14) for locking/unlocking the control unit (10) which is displaceable between a first position in which it is held by the locking/unlocking mechanism (14) and in which said vibrating unit (12) is remote from the rest position thereof and a second position, in which said control unit is released by the locking/unlocking mechanism (14) and simultaneously releases the vibrating unit (12) in such a way than it starts to vibrate and produce a sound.
