FLAT PLATE-TYPE REFORMER AND FUEL CELL SYSTEM USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat plate-type reformer which is capable of improving the reaction efficiency and thermal efficiency for producing a hydrogen gas by making effective use of a reaction heat in the combustion reaction section and to provide a fuel cell system by using the reformer.

SOLUTION: The system comprises a flat plate-type combustion reaction section composed of a distribution plate 230 having a distribution chamber 231 with a plurality of distribution holes and of a combustion plate 240 having a combustion chamber 241 provided with an oxidation catalyst layer for generating heat energy by reacting a fuel and an oxidizing agent supplied by way of the distribution holes of the above distribution plate 230; a flat plate-type preheating section which has a channel formed for the mixture fuel mixed with a fuel and water to be flowed in and preheats the above mixed fuel by a heat energy of the above combustion reaction section; and a flat plate-type reforming reaction section placed inside with a reforming catalyst layer 256 for producing the hydrogen gas from a mixed fuel which is preheated while passing the above preheating section, with the above combustion reaction section being placed and laminated structurally between the above preheating section and the above reforming reaction section.
