<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find out new functions of Puerariae Flos, to thereby increase the range of uses of the Puerariae Flos and to provide a new anti-diabetic agent. <P>SOLUTION: The anti-diabetic agent is composed of a treated material of the Puerariae Flos. The treated material of the Puerariae Flos has excellent inhibitory actions on elevation of blood glucose level and has further inhibitory actions on glucide absorption by inhibitory actions on α-glucosidase. Since the treated material of the Puerariae Flos exhibits excellent anti-diabetic effects by the actions, the treated material can be utilized as a prophylactic or a therapeutic agent for the diabetes.
