PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic contactor which can protect a load without burdening excessive stress thereon. SOLUTION: When an operation coil 10 receives an operation order from a control circuit 9, a switching part 11 in the electromagnetic contactor 2 is turned on and the load 8 is operated, a current passing through a connecting conductor 4 flows through a terminal and the current is detected by a current detection means 7, and it is made possible to output the current (direct current voltage or the like) to the control circuit. By the above, abnormal state of the load can be detected beforehand, therefore, the load can be protected without burdening excessive stress thereon. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
