PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability in breaking a circuit by improving a contact failure of a contact point of a moving contact and an operation failure of a handle. SOLUTION: In this circuit breaker, a gap G1 between a holder 9 and the moving contact 5 generated in current-limiting contact-parting is shielded from the sides of respective contact points 7 and 8 by a protrusive shape part 14a of a protective cover 14. Thereby, a fused material generated from a grid of an arc-extinguishing chamber and the respective contact points 7 and 8 in breaking of the circuit breaker is blocked by the protrusive shape part 14a, whereby the fused material is prevented from intruding between the holder 9 and the moving contact 5.
