PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce high-quality 4-methyl-1-pentene copolymer excellent in transparency, impact strength, etc., simply and efficiently and at a low cost by slurry polymerization. SOLUTION: In the method for producing the copolymer of 4-methyl-1-pentene with otherα-olefin by using a Ziegler-Natta catalyst in a hydrocarbon solvent, 4-methyl-1-pentene and otherα-olefin are continuously added over≥1 hr and when the addition is carried out, the ratio of an amount (L/hr) of 4-methyl-1-pentene added to an amount (L/hr) of otherα-olefin added is 0-0.20.
