The invention concerns a magnetic separator (10) of non-ferrous metal conductive elements comprising a first field winding (18) integral with a vertically arranged axis of rotation (20). The rotation of the first field winding (18) in a substantially horizontal plane generates variation of a magnetic field created by the magnets of the first field winding (18). The magnetic separator (10) comprises a dielectric material sorting tray (26) extending parallel to the first field winding (18). The variation of the magnetic field generates the creation of induced currents in the elements passing on the sorting tray (26) and the gliding of the elements on the sorting tray (26) according to trajectories dependent on the interaction of the conductive elements with the induced currents circulating through them. Such a magnetic separator (10) can in particular be used in a selective sorting installation comprising a plurality of magnetic separators (10) arranged in rows and/or columns. |
