<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control lighting area according to the operation state of a console panel. <P>SOLUTION: When one of operation buttons 2 in display areas 1a and 1b is operated while the display areas 1a and 1b illuminate (back lights 3a and 3b illuminate) during the operation of equipment, a control section 4 starts a timer 7 and a timer set time is expected to pass. The display areas 1a and 1b illuminate during this period and when some operation button 2 is operated, the timer 7 starts clocking the time again. The display area 1b is turned off the set time later and the timer 7 is started to expect the set time to pass. During this period, the display area 1b is off and when some operation button 2 is operated, the timer 7 starts clocking the time at the point of time.
