<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle theft preventive system capable of preventing illegal use of a vehicle by a thief without causing other vehicles trouble. <P>SOLUTION: In the vehicle theft preventive system, an engine or the like is changed from an inoperative mode to an operative mode if the ID code included in a signal received from a portable machine carried by a user is matched with the ID code registered in advance; or the inoperative mode of the engine or the like is maintained otherwise. When the invalidation command is received from a center, and a non-use state of the vehicle is detected based on the situation of generation of the predetermined signal to indicate various kinds of modes of the vehicle, the inoperative mode of the engine or the like is formed, and by invalidating the validity of the ID code of the portable machine, the change from the above-described formed inoperative mode to the operative mode becomes impossible even when the ID code included in the signal received from the portable machine is matched with the pre-registered ID code. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
