PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain a memory occupied by operating sounds reproduced with the operation of an electronic apparatus from increasing in size and conversion throughput from increasing. SOLUTION: A ROM 12 which compresses the outputted operating sound data and holds, a RAM 11 which expands operating sound data in a prescribed mode, and a microprocessor 13 which controls the memories, ROM 12 and RAM 11, and outputs the operating sound to a speaker 15 through the intermediary of an audio decoder 14 are provided. When operating sounds are put in a prescribed mode, the microprocessor 13 judges whether data corresponding to the operating sounds necessary in a prescribed mode is present in the RAM 11 or not, and when it is found that the data are not present in the RAM 11, the corresponding data are read out from the ROM 12 and expanded, and the expanded data are written in the RAM 11. When operating sounds are outputted in the prescribed mode, the microprocessor 13 controls the RAM 11 so as to enable the data corresponding to the above operating sounds to be read out from the RAM 11.
