PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfactorily raise the accuracy of acceleration detection of an acceleration sensor that uses a movable magnet. SOLUTION: The sensor is so constituted as to detect acceleration by utilizing an induced electromotive force generated, when the movable magnet 14 arranged in a coil 12 moves in the direction of its axis Ax. There, three guide poles 16 arranged at equal intervals in the circumferential direction of the axis Ax so as to surround the movable magnet 14 and stretching in the direction of the axis Ax, are used as guide members for movably supporting the movable magnet 14. Consequently, its sliding resistance at a moving time is minimized by, not by bringing the movable magnet 14 into surface contact with the internal perimeter of a cylindrical guide member, as before, but rather into point contact with each guide pole 16, and the accuracy of acceleration detection is raised satisfactorily. Moreover, the movable magnet 14 is prevented from being influenced by the damper action of the air inside a cylindrical space, as before, at the moving of the movable magnet 14, and the accuracy of acceleration detection is raised satisfactorily also in this respect.
