PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program reproducing device which enables a user to limit viewing for each program, a program reproducing program and a computer readable recording medium having the program reproducing program recorded thereon. SOLUTION: A hard disk recorder 10 is provided with a memory 28, a DVD read part 20, a decoder 26, and a control part 36. The memory 28 stores the time capable of reproduction and inhibition information for each kind of a recording medium, and the DVD read part 20 reads information from an optical disk. The control part 36 specifies the kind of the recording medium, judges whether or not the information read from the recording medium by the DVD read part 20 may be reproduced, measures the cumulative total of an information amount reproduced by the decoder 26, judges whether or not the cumulative total of the reproduced information amount is a reproducible information amount or more, and updates the contents of the inhibition information to the ones indicating that reproduction is inhibited in the case that the cumulative total of the reproduced information amount is the reproducible information amount or more.
