PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin film magnetic head used in a helical tape scan system, in which the occurrence of recording pattern disturbance of an adjacent track is reduced. SOLUTION: The thin film magnetic head for azimuth recording of a helical tape scan system is provided with an upper layer magnetic core and a lower layer magnetic core, and one side 37 of the magnetic pole end part 36A of the upper layer magnetic core 36 is obliquely cut so as to be parallel to the end edge of a recording track in a width direction or enter the recording track.
