PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building having ventilation paths on the rear side of a room provided fitted with a porous material for purifying air in a ventilation path and to achieve smooth air circulation in the ventilation path. SOLUTION: Outside air is introduced into a functional chamber 4 arranged in an underfloor part 3 through a vent cap 1 and a duct 2. Dust in the air is removed by an air filter 6, and then the air flows out into the underfloor part 3 through a chamber 7 for branching and a duct 8 branched from it. The air passes through a ventilation path 11 on a wall rear part in a room 10 on the first floor, a ventilation path 21 on a wall rear part in a room 20 on the second floor, and an underfloor space 22 on the second floor and rises up to an attic space 24. The air returns into the functional chamber 4 through a duct 25, a chamber 26 for joining, and a duct 27. Porous plate members 50 carrying photocatalyst such as titanium oxide on their surfaces are attached to a panel 40, the wall rear parts in the rooms 10, 20, a floor rear part, a part under the roof, and underfloor concrete 9.
