PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for obtaining data of an elevator allowing an elevator maintenance worker to easily obtain the required data when performing maintenance or coping with a failure. SOLUTION: In this elevator data obtaining method, a data overlapping means 6 overlaps the maintenance data, which is extracted from an information storage section 2 by a data extraction section 3 in response to a maintenance signal or a failure signal, or failure capture data with voice data from a voice device 4 for announcement to form a voice overlapped signal. This voice overlapped signal is output to an interphone 9 provided in an elevator car 8, a data separating means 13 such as a maintenance tool 11 separates the maintenance data or the failure capture data from the output voice overlapped signal, and the maintenance data and the failure capture data are stored in a storage section 15.
