An LED(light emitting diode) package having a sulfur fluorescent body is provided to obtain a desired light emitting wavelength and high optical conversion efficiency by using a fluorescent body containing sulfur. At least two electrode terminals are included in a casing(1). A leadframe(7,9) includes a gold plating layer, disposed in the casing and connected to the electrode terminal. A light emitting chip(5) is mounted on the leadframe. A reflection surface is disposed between the leadframe and the light emitting chip to reflect light. A fluorescent body(10) is filled in the casing, excited by light energy emitted from the light emitting chip. Sulfur is mixed with the fluorescent body to change the excitation wavelength and the light emitting wavelength in exciting the fluorescent body. The gold plating layer formed on the outer surface of the leadframe selectively includes a platinum-group element like platinum or palladium.
