<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device and an image processing program that can facilitate a reproduction operation of an image focusing on a face area. <P>SOLUTION: An image read out from a recording medium 26 is converted to a reproduction image in a reproduction processing part 28 and output to a display device 20. A face detection part 30 detects the positions of a face area, both eyes and the like of a person imaged in the image by face recognition techniques. The face detection part 30 also calculates an inclination angle of the face area by a face recognition technique. A trimming processing part 32 trims the image to cut out a partial area such as the detected face area. A resizing/rotation processing part 34 enlarges/reduces the local area of the image trimmed by the trimming processing part 32 before outputting it to the display device 20. The resizing/rotation processing part 34 also rotates the face area according to the calculated inclination angle of the face area.
