<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve the problem that a portable phone with a radio LAN communication function is large in power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: When having received, from a mobile phone base station, notification information for indicating absence of a radio LAN base station within a communication possible range of own station, a controller 11 supplies no electric power to a radio LAN communication unit 16.
