<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object detection apparatus capable of setting an object to be detected even in the case that the object can not be detected by one detection means among two detection means. <P>SOLUTION: The object detection apparatus 1 for detecting objects on the basis of both information by a radar and information by images is provided with a radar detection means 2 for detecting objects by the radar; an image detection means 3 for detecting objects by images; and a determination means 8 for determining whether an object detected by the radar detection means 2 and an object detected by the image detection means 3 are one and the same object or not on the basis of both the position information of the object detected by the radar detection means 2 and the position information of the object detected by the image detection means 3. In the case that an object, which is determined as one and the same object in the past, can not be detected by one of the two detection means 2 and 3, it is determined whether the object is one and the same object on the basis of both a predicted track of the movement, which is obtained from the information set on the object that is determined to be the same object in the past, and the position information of the object detected by the other detection means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
