<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a delay in a leading of a RSSI signal caused by a low pass filter in the wireless LAN apparatus and reducing variations in the RSSI signal caused by a frequency offset in a preamble of a frame. <P>SOLUTION: The method for receiving the RSSI signal obtained by composing I and Q components of a wireless LAN received signal after it is converted from an RF section, applying A/D conversion to the RSSI signal and applying shaping processing to the resulting RSSI signal includes the steps of: applying digital averaging processing by means of a digital signal to the RSSI signal after the A/D conversion; and decreasing a window length in the averaging until an averaged output reaches a prescribed value, increasing the window length after the averaged output reaches the prescribed value, and keeping a maximum value of the averaged output within a prescribed period and providing an output. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
