<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that an aperture ratio of a liquid crystal display panel provided with color filters on an opposing substrate is lowered if the alignment accuracy of an element substrate and the opposing substrate is low. <P>SOLUTION: The display device has a thin-film transistor disposed in a pixel part on a substrate, an insulating film formed on the thin-film transistor, a red color filter, green color filter and blue color filter formed on the insulating film, and an EL element formed on the red color filter, green color filter and blue color filter, and electrically connected to the thin-film transistor. The EL element emits light to the substrate side and the light emitted from the EL element transmits the substrate.
