PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video recording device which can perform recording according to usage status of a user. SOLUTION: A control part 4 reads out priority memorized in a memory part 6 when it becomes a start time of reserved videotape recording processing during a recording and reproduction part 2 is performing recording processing. The control part 4 decides whether it continues recording processing which is carrying out at present, or stops recording processing which is carrying out at present and starts the reserved recording. The priority is established by the user at the first time of power on in the recording device 1.
