PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographic system and a video signal processing program, with which the video signal of high quality can be generated by taking photographic state into consideration. SOLUTION: The photographic system applies gradation conversion processing, taking into consideration the photographic state to a video signal of an image photographed by a photographic means (a lens system 10, an iris 101 and a CCD 102). In the first embodiment, the photographic system comprises a photographing state determining part 108 for determining the photographic state of the image, an information quantity changing part 107 for changing the information quantity of the video signal, according to the photographic state determined by the photographic state determining part 108 and a gradation conversion part 110 for performing gradation conversion processing, according to the gradation conversion characteristics obtained by using the video signal, of which the information quantity is changed by the information quantity changing part 107.
