PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely prevent a retaining wall from being turned over by forming the components of the retaining wall integrally with each other to effectively develop the strength of a high ground against a soil pressure through the entire part of the retaining wall over a long period, reducing the volumes of an excavated soil, waste soil, and backfilled soil, and displacing the gravity center of the retaining wall to a non-turning over side. SOLUTION: The retaining wall 1 supports the soil pressure of the high ground G by columns 2, piles 3, and a retaining body 6 to stop the collapse of the high ground. The columns are formed of reinforced concrete vertical columns constructed just on the piles. The piles and the columns form vertical framework members arranged in the vertical direction. The buttress 7 of reinforced concrete structure is formed integrally with the rear face of the vertical framework members. The adjacent vertical framework members are formed integrally with each other through a reinforced concrete foundation 4 supporting the vertical load of the wall body.
