The holding unit (1) can be attached to a suitable component inside the passenger cabin of a vehicle and is designed as a container (31) with a hinged lid (3) for the accommodation of a bottle. The folded back lid (3) can be used as a platform for the base (12) of a high stemmed glass (2). The glass (2) is held by two spring supported semicircular elements (5,6) which can be swiveled over the outer edge of the base (12). In a second version a magnet is activated by sensors as soon as a bottle is inserted into the container (31) in order to hold the glass (2) in position.
