<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent degradation of cell performance resulting from substances generated as a by-product of an electrochemical reaction. <P>SOLUTION: An anode 22 and a cathode 23 as electrodes of a unit cell 20 are formed on an electrolyte layer 21 that is a solid polymer electrolyte membrane. These electrodes are each formed by mixing an electrolyte with catalyst particles wherein a catalyst metal is carried by conductive fine particles, and have a thickness of 0.1 to 2 μm. In these electrodes, the proportion of the catalyst metal with respect to the conductive fine particles in the catalyst particles is 60 to 80 wt.%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
