PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive circuit where a switching frequency of a main switching element can be made high. SOLUTION: In the drive circuit 1, a switching control circuit 6 supplies a control pulse to a gate of a switching element 5 and the switching element 5 is switching-operated. Thus, input voltage Vi is intermittently impressed to primary winding 4a of a pulse transformer 4, and the drive voltage Vd is induced in secondary winding 4b of the pulse transformer 4. When output from the switching control circuit 6 becomes from H level output to high impedance output, the switching element 5 is turned off. Drive voltage is Vd=(Vin-Vds) N2/N1, Vd=0 since initial values when voltage Vgs between a gate and a source rises are input voltage Vi=Vgs=0 and Vds=0, and drive voltage Vd speedily falls at that time.
