PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of displaying an image whose brightness level is appropriately corrected even if an input video signal is in a full-range or in a limited-range. SOLUTION: A video display device 8 comprises a digital interface receiver 1 that decodes input video signals, an input range discriminating part 2 for discriminating whether the decoded video signal is in the full-range or in the limited-range, a video signal process control part 5 for controlling a setup cancel amount and a dynamic range correction coefficient based on the discrimination result by the input range discriminating part 2, a calculation process part 6 for calculating the correction of the setup cancel and a dynamic range based on the setup cancel amount and the dynamic range correction coefficient outputted from the video signal process control part 5, and a display device 7 for displaying video based on the video signal corrected by the calculation process part 6.
