PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing the electrode plate collector of a lead storage battery which maintains the strength of the depth in a high state, prevents the deformation of a grid shape, and can perform a long lifetime by performing rolling of small rolling reduction in the initial stage of continuous rolling of a lead sheet 1 and microfabrication only of a crystalline composition of a surface layer section more. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the electrode plate collector of the lead storage battery which rolls out gradually the casting lead sheet 1a of a slab casting element, such as a lead, etc., by the reduction roll of multiple steps, includes two or more rolling steps of rolling by 3% or less of small rolling reduction by one set of small-diameter reduction rolls 3 and 3, until the rolling lead sheet 1b is rolled in thickness of 50% to the sheet thickness of an original slab casting element.
