PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the variation of the interval of chapters relating to a recorder. SOLUTION: A hard disk recorder 10 is provided with an antenna 60, a recording head 46, and a control part 36. The antenna 60 receives broadcasting signals, and the recording head 46 records the broadcasting signals and information indicating the chapter to a recording medium. The control part 36 judges whether or not the broadcasting signals that the antenna 60 is receiving have changed from the signals of stereo broadcasting to the signals of monophonic broadcasting, controls the recording head 46 so as to record the information indicating the chapter when the broadcasting signals that the antenna 60 is receiving have changed from the signals of the stereo broadcasting to the signals of the monophonic broadcasting, and controls the recording head 46 so as to record the information indicating the chapter when a length from the time of recording the information indicating the chapter to the recording medium last in the period during which the antenna 60 receives the broadcasting signals becomes a prescribed length.
