[Also in Group XL(c)] A concave wire-reinforced plastic structure such as a radar aerial or reflector is made by applying an epoxy resin which is tacky for a limited period to the convex surface 6 of a mould 5, causing relative straight line motion between the mould and a frame 7 in which a number of spaced parallel conductor wires 12 are arranged under tension by means of pulleys 9 and weights 13 so that the wires are located on the resin without lateral movement, and completing the structure with further epoxy resin or with a resin which unites therewith. The structure may be reinforced with glass-fibres and a wax parting agent may be used on the surface 6. |
