The holding bracket (40) provided on the stacker for handling by the operator has two parallel spaced vertical arms (42,44) fitted to the top of the stacker body and connected across the top by a handle bar (48) which is fitted roughly in the middle with a switch housing (62) containing the operating elements for lifting and lowering the loading fork as well as for the horn and fast-drive mode. The switch housing is on the underneath of the handle bar readily accessible to the user. The handle bar can be shaped with a bead (64) extending forwards for gripping by the fingers. This bead can be formed from plastics on a tube of the handle bar integral with the switch housing which has a recess at the back to take a control box (68).
