The adaptor (1,2) for a building air conditioner (4) having an interior section (5) and an exterior section (6). The inner and outer sections are connected by fluid filled hoses (7,8) and the adaptor has a valve which can open and close in the direction of its longitudinal axis. The adaptor chamber base has a central bore to receive the valve and the bore is formed as a part of the passage through the adaptor. The valve can have a conical face opposing the chamber base.
