<p>A lock device to be used for an electronic device having a foldable and expandable case. The lock device is characterized in that the device is provided with a lock section for locking the case in a folded state; an operating section for releasing lock of the case by the lock section by moving the lock section; and a transmission mechanism for converting a driving force applied on the operating section in a direction different from an operating direction of the operating section and moving the lock section along such different direction.</p>
