APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ELIMINATING HIGH CONCENTRATION OF MANGANESE WITH 2 STAGE MANGANESE SAND FILTRATION

A method and a process of removing turbid components and high concentration manganese ions contained in underground water or bankfiltrate are provided. A process apparatus for two-stage manganese sand filtration comprises: a raw water tank(1) for storing raw water containing high concentration manganese; a filtration pump(2) for pumping raw water of the raw water tank; a pretreatment equipment(5) comprising an alkaline agent injection pump(3) for injecting alkali into raw water pumped by the filtration pump, and a chlorine agent injection pump(4) for injecting chlorine into the raw water; a first stage manganese filter tank(10) for primarily filtering manganese contained in raw water passing through the pretreatment equipment; a second stage manganese filter tank(11) for secondly filtering manganese contained in raw water passing through the first stage manganese filter tank; a chlorine concentration sensor(13) linked with the chlorine agent injection pump and mounted on a discharge part of the second stage manganese filter tank to adjust chlorine concentration of produced water discharged from the second stage manganese filter tank; a produced water tank(6) for storing produced water filtered by the second stage manganese filter tank; a backwashing equipment(12) for injecting air generated from a high pressure air generator(8) into water pumped by a backwashing pump(9), and thereby mixing water and the air with each other to inject a mixture of water and air into the first stage manganese filter tank and the second stage manganese filter tank; and a dechlorination agent injection pump(7) for injecting a dechlorination agent into backwashing water backwashed by the backwashing equipment.
