<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding mobile phone capable of realizing effective antenna characteristics even in an opened state or a closed state. <P>SOLUTION: The folding mobile phone provided with at least an upper housing 1, a lower housing 2, a hinge part 3, and an antenna 4 arranged in the vicinity of the hinge part 3 is provided also with: an open/close detection means for detecting the open/close state of the housings by using a Hall IC or the like; an upper/lower connection switching circuit 9 connected to a lower circuit board 6; and an upper/lower housing connecting metal fitting 8 for connecting an upper circuit board 5 to the upper/lower connection switching circuit 9. The upper/lower connection switching circuit 9 changes impedance by turning on/off a PIN diode or the like on the basis of an open/close state signal from the open/close detection means. Because it is thereby switched to appropriate impedance in accordance with the opened/closed states of the mobile phone, the effective antenna characteristics can be achieved even in the opened state or the closed state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
