PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle communication apparatus and its method capable of appropriately operating each function.

SOLUTION: This on-vehicle communication apparatus includes: end point transceivers 31 to 39 provided for each of on-vehicle units 21 to 29; gateway transceivers 11 to 13 which are provided for each of functional networks 1 to 3 having on-vehicle units 21 to 29 and performs radio communication between the end point transceivers 31 to 39 within the functional networks 1 to 3; and power supplies 41 to 49 provided for each of the on-vehicle units 21 to 29.
