PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a current position calculating device 20, capable of surely displaying the current position of a vehicle on a circular road while the vehicle is traveling on the loop road. SOLUTION: The current position calculating device 20 comprises a map storage section 208 for storing link data of the roads on a map; a virtual current position calculating section 202, which calculates for each candidate point under previous calculation and based on the measured value of the travel distance and travel direction of the vehicle, after the candidate point has been calculated, the virtual current position of the vehicle; a first candidate point calculating section 210 and a second candidate point calculating section 206, which calculate the candidate point for this time by using the virtual current position and the link data for the respective virtual current position; a reliability calculating section 200 for calculating the reliability of the candidate point for each calculated candidate point; and a current position deciding section 220, which selects from among the calculated candidate points and based on the calculated reliability, a single candidate point, and decides the position that corresponds to the selected candidate point to be the current position of the vehicle.
