PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a vehicular engine causing neither dispersion of a shift shock nor impairment of operability by stabilizing shift characteristics of an automatic transmission even when providing the control device for correcting a target throttle opening with engine speed. SOLUTION: A regulating means 106 (SB1-14) predicts an unregulated correction target throttle opening ttah<SB>ie</SB>after the completion of shift of the automatic transmission 14, and regulates the change of a target throttle opening tta in an inertia phase so that the target throttle opening tta in the inertia phase during the shift becomes the unregulated correction target throttle opening ttah<SB>ie</SB>after the completion of the shift. The target throttle opening tta whose change is regulated by the regulating means 106 thereby agrees with the correction target throttle opening ttah<SB>ie</SB>unregulated by the regulating means 106 at the completion of the shift, and in consequence, connection of engine torque after the completion of the shift becomes appropriate and smooth.
