PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position registration control method and a position registration control system for a mobile terminal that contribute to the relaxation of congestion and the effective utilization of control channels. SOLUTION: The position registratio control system controls so that the position of an existing mobile terminal (MS1), whose position is registered to a wireless zone (Z1), is registered to a peripheral wireless zone (Z2) in response to the movement of a mobile terminal (MS0) to the wireless zone (Z1) when it is known that the number of position registrations in the wireless zone is larger than that of in the peripheral wireless zone (Z2) by instructing the mobile terminal (MS1) to acquire the number of the position registrations in the peripheral wireless zone.
