PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously perform self diagnosis on both of two outputs with a voltage for self diagnosis taken as one value, the voltage to be impressed on an operational amplifier in a C-V conversion circuit. SOLUTION: The gain of a second GAIN circuit 23c can be switched between usual acceleration detection and self diagnosis. The gain is caused to be one time in self diagnosis. This allows this capacitance-type physical quantity sensor to simultaneously perform self diagnosis on an output 1 of a first GAIN circuit 23b and on an output 2 of the GAIN circuit 23c.
