PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method each for receiving sausage portions discharged from a filling machine and orderly arranging the sausage portions in relation to their amounts and positions. SOLUTION: In order to make possible to receive sausage portions discharged from a filling machine and further to orderly put the sausage portions in relation to their amounts and positions, an acceleration device for continuously receiving the sausage portions from the filling machine and further conveying the received sausage portions, and also a transfer device for laterally pushing out the sausage portions, respectively, from the acceleration device at a defined position are disposed.
