A switching apparatus and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to determine on/off states of a switch by using a capacitance difference according to a change of dielectric constants of switching terminals. A switching apparatus is turned on/off according to a change of dielectric constants of a dielectric between switching terminals. The switching apparatus includes a conductive fluid(400), a channel unit(100), a flux generation unit, and an electrode unit(310,320). The channel unit is used as a path of the fluid. The flux generation unit generates flux around the channel unit. The electrode unit generates electric field having a vertical component to the flux around the channel unit. The conductive fluid is driven by Lorentz force between the flux and the electric field in order to change a position thereof and turn on/off the switching terminals.
