A bulk bag and skid combination, includes a bulk bag with sides and a bottom made from a pliable material. A rigid planar rectangular insert rigidifies the bottom of the bulk bag. The insert has a peripheral edge. A pair of elongate members is provided having a first end and a second end. Each of the elongate members has an upper surface forming an engagement shoulder. The shoulder is adapted to engage the peripheral edge of the inser t. Straps are provided for securing each of the elongate members in a position underlying the bottom of the bulk bag, while maintaining the engagement shoulder of each of the elongate members engaged with the peripheral edge of the insert. This prevents inward movemen t of the elongate members.
