Packaging machine

The machine (1) has a format variable cutting unit (11) to cut filled and sealed packings and including a positionable cutting tool with a controllable positioning unit. A control unit has a data memory in which data and/or software packages for individually provided packing formats are stored. A xy-axes system with two linear adjusting units is provided. The cutting unit and a working unit has a common control and/or supply unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing packages from packings that are filled and sealed with packaged goods.
