The method involves arranging a set of milking stalls on a movable platform. The milking stalls are separated from one another so that in each case one animal occupies the milking stall. A device for animal identification is provided on an access path to identify a cow approaching a carousel milking facility. A movement of an animal out of an identification area in a direction of the milking stall is detected.
