摘要 A self-luminous LCD is provided to achieve a high brightness and high efficiency in light use by preventing excitation of a luminous layer caused by external light and the lowering of a contrast ratio. A backlight(20) emits blue light. A liquid crystal driving circuit defines a plurality of red, green and blue pixels, and switches blue light from the backlight to control the blue light passing through the pixels defined by each color. A red fluorescent layer(R) is excited by the blue light provided corresponding to the red pixel, and thus emits red light. A green fluorescent layer(G) is excited by the blue light provided corresponding to the green pixel, and thus emits green light. A blue photo-luminescent nano dot layer(B) is excited by the blue light provided corresponding to the blue pixel, and thus emits blue light.
