Apparatus for forming inkjet image and method for controlling the same are provided to prevent a print quality from being deteriorated by preventing a blur of an ink or a damage of an ink image. In an inkjet image forming apparatus, includes the steps of: receiving a printing data(S200); counting all the number of dots per page from the printing data(S250); calculating the drying time of total dot's number from a stored look-up table(13a)(S270); and forming an image by using a page width-printer head within the calculated drying time.
