A paper feeding apparatus for a printer is provided to reduce contact noise of a pick-up rubber by simultaneously making the pick-rubber and a pick-up idle contact with a knock-up plate when a pick-up unit makes contact with the knock-up plate. A paper feeding apparatus for a printer includes a knock-up plate(1) and a pick-up unit. The pick-up unit includes a pick-up shaft(11), a pick-up rubber(13), and pick-up idles(14b). The pick-up idles are installed on both sides of the pick-up rubber in the pick-up shaft so as to idle. The pick-up idles have a radius smaller than the radius of the pick-up rubber. The initial position of the pick-up rubber is set so that the pick-up rubber and the pick-up idle can make contact with the knock-up plate simultaneously when the pick-up unit and the knock-up plate makes contact with each other to supply a paper.
